Semi-autonomous functions for cranes
Perform automated individual actions
At the touch of a button, the system autonomously moves the crane to the destination, finds the target - such as a delivery truck - and performs the defined activity. It avoids obstacles during travel and always observes any configured rules, e.g. „do not drive a full grapple or hook over a vehicle“. Multiple source and destination locations are possible.
Among the most frequently used semi-autonomous functions are “Navigating to the pickup point and picking up the load” and “Navigating to the drop-off location and setting down the load.” Any such tasks can be defined in the system; multiple pickup points and drop-off locations can also be created here.
Flexible response to the environment, even in semi-autonomous operation
When performing individual tasks, AutoCrane automatically detects and navigates around obstacles while in motion and strictly adheres to configured safety rules. In both fully autonomous and semi-autonomous modes, AutoCrane avoids moving a loaded grapple or hook over vehicles. This significantly reduces the risk of accidents.
The autonomous execution of individual tasks involves far more than simply moving to predefined coordinates: AutoCrane proactively monitors its path, avoids obstacles, and actively locates its targets. The system thus navigates toward a specific object—such as a truck—rather than just an abstract point in space. This means that trucks do not have to stop at exactly the same spot every time they deliver or pick up goods, as the system has a high degree of tolerance when locating the target.
